Ingredients :

1 lb ground beef (or any meat of your choice)

1 small head cabbage (shredded)

3 big carrots (julienned)

1 onion (chopped)

2 cloves garlic (chopped)

½ tsp grated ginger

Salt & pepper to taste

1 tsp sesame oil

2 tbsp light soy sauce

2 tbsp cooking oil

Egg roll wrappers

Cooking oil for frying


Simple Egg Rolls

Heat a large pan or pot and add the oil. Sauté the vegetables (onion, garlic, ginger) then add the meat and let it cook for a few minutes. Season it with salt & pepper.

When the meat is cooked, add the carrots and cabbage and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.

Lastly, add the sesame oil, soy sauce and maybe some more pepper; then let it cool off before wrapping.


Simple Egg Rolls

 Discard any juice from the mixture before wrapping. In a small bowl prepare a mixture of water & flour (to seal the edges of the wrapper).


 Now let’s wrap some Egg Rolls!


Take a wrapper and place it on a flat surface. Fill in with 1-2 tbsp. of the mixture. Roll the tip of the wrapper forward then fold both edges and finally sealing the ends with liquid mixture (as seen in the video).

Now you are ready to fry these rolls! If you have a deep fryer that will save you some work but if you don’t then just get a deep pot making sure that the oil does not overflow when cooking.


TIP: Start heating your oil while you’re wrapping, saves time!


Make sure that the oil is SUPER HOT before putting the rolls or it will soak a lot of oil!

Drop the egg rolls and let it cook until they’re golden brown. Drain any excess oil by placing them on a paper towel standing up.

Let it cool off and serve it with your favorite sauce!
