If you are up for a CHALLENGE and have plenty of time at hand, I encourage you to try making this! But I understand that some of you are busy. These Spring Roll Wrappers are also available in some local stores, not all. That’s why I motivated myself to do my very own spring roll wrappers.

Where I live I have to go drive a long way to purchase this and yes, they are FROZEN when I get them. So, I told myself why not make it? Here we are!

4 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp salt

1 ¾ cups water (feel free to adjust the amount of water)

In a big bowl put the flour, salt, and water. Mix all the ingredients until you have a thick batter. Then start “slapping the batter” for about 10 minutes until the texture is smooth and elastic. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes.

Let’s make some wrappers! I prefer to use a LARGE PAN because it works better for me and I get to make large wrappers! Another thing is it gives me the advantage of working in a bigger space. If you have a non-stick pan it’s even better!

Heat the pan from MEDIUM TO LOW TEMPERATURE. I start in medium heat then lower it. If the pan is too hot, the batter will not stick.

Get a paper towel and LIGHTLY grease the pan, not too much or the batter will not stick to the pan. If you are using a non-stick pan, you don’t have to grease your pan.

During the process of making these wrappers the pan will “dry up”. Just re-grease it lightly and you are back making wrappers again!

When the pan is perfectly heated take a handful of batter into your hand as seen in the video. This will feel weird at the beginning but you will get the hang of it after a while.

With the ball of batter in your hand, gently rub it into the pan in a circular motion leaving a thin (skin) layer to the pan then immediately removing any excess.

Let it cook for a few seconds. When the EDGES START TO CURL, it’s time to pick it up!

Place it on a flat surface upside down (allowing the steam to cook the other side) and cover it with a cloth to prevent it from drying up. That’s it!

Makes about 20-25 wrappers!

If you are not using it right away, just cover them tightly with plastic wrap and leave it in the fridge ready for the following day. IT IS BEST IF YOU USE IT THE SAME DAY!
