Cooking rice can be tricky sometimes because there are many types of rice and each kind may require a different way of cooking. Some rice may need less amount of water but others may need more. I am using a Jasmin White Rice. I’ve tried the majority of what’s around and so far this is the best that I have found.

Once we were at a restaurant with friends and I ordered some chicken with some vegetables as a sidedish and not to forget the rice of course! Well my plate came and there it was my pile of instant rice half cooked! ๐Ÿ™

I hate complaining but I still ate the majority of it not to waste. You can make some good homemade rice and it’s not that complicated. I hope that you will practice making some and I’m pretty sure that you will never eat your rice the same way.

1 cup of rice

1 cup of water

In the Rice Cooker

using rice cooker

Put the rice in the removeable pot and wash it until the water clears up.

Drain and put back 1 cup of water.

Place it in the rice cooker and push the button COOK.ย

The button goes up and stays at WARM when itโ€™s done.

Serve like it is or let it cool off and make a Fried Rice!

TIP: After the button goes up I usually wait another 5-10 minutes before serving it. Allowing the steam to come out more so the rice is not too moist when served.

This is what I have been using for many years. You may purchase them at your local grocery stores.

You may choose your favorite rice. I have tried some but I always go back to this one because this is the SELLER for us!

Why Use a Rice Cooker?ย

It is much easier with a rice cooker, I just put the rice in and leave it! Traditional cooking also works very well but you have to be there to control the heat temperature as soon as the rice starts boiling. It is a lot simpler with the rice cooker especially when you have other things to do.

No Rice Cooker, No Problem

Get a pot and do the same procedure. Start cooking with MEDIUM HEAT until it boils then lower the temperature and let it cook until all the water is gone; it will take about 10-15 minutes.
